Principal's Message

Welcome Back to Madison School – Happy 2026!

Dear Madison Families,

Happy New Year and welcome to 2026! We hope your winter break was restful and filled with special time together. We are excited to welcome students back to school on Tuesday, January 6th. Our staff is looking forward to seeing our students and getting back into learning together.

As we begin the new year, we want to share an important reminder about regular school attendance. Being at school every day matters. Research from Attendance Works shows that students who attend school regularly are more successful in reading, math, and overall learning. When students miss school, they miss important instruction that is hard to replace.

Our school goal is for 90% of our students to attend school 90% of the time. This means students can miss up to 17 days during the entire school year. Attending school regularly helps students stay on track with their learning goals.

Here is our current regular attendance by grade level:
  • Kindergarten: 67%
  • 1st Grade: 69%
  • 2nd Grade: 72%

Regular attendance declined in December, with your help we can see improvement in January. If we reach an 80% schoolwide attendance rate, we will celebrate with a fun Pie the Principal attendance reward.

Please help us meet our goal by making school attendance a priority each day. Every day counts, and your support makes a big difference.

As always, if you have questions or need support, please feel free to call the school office. We are here to help.

Thank you for being a great partner in your child’s education. We are excited for a strong start to 2026!

Sincerely,
Carli Ainsworth
Principal
